FBI’s Prisoner DNA Bank

Many of your readers may be familiar with the case of dick Simkanin who was on the cover of the July 2000 edition of Media Bypass Magazine (Vol. 8, No. 7) entitled “Company CEO Obeys the Law. Arrow Plastics stops IRS withholding – NO LAW REQUIRES IT”. District Judge John McBryde sentenced Simkanin to seven years and a fine of $302,000, although this sentence was in excess of federal guidelines, which calls for a sentence of 41 to 51 months. Dick completed his sentence and was due to leave on July 25, 2009. Now Warden Keith Roy is conditioning Simkanin’s release upon forcing Dick to give a DNA sample to the FBI. His refusal adds another year to his time. The FBI is paid for each kit making it lucrative for the warden and the FBI. This is a sneak attack for him to waive his rights, but of course they don’t mention this to the prisoner.
Currently there is a lawsuit pending against the warden (case #5-09-cv74). Dick has been a model prisoner and deserves justice. This warden has no authority to hold Dick beyond his release date. Who is allowing this warden these demands to satisfy his power grab and monetary reward? Hopefully your readers will respond in writing to the warden at F.C.I., P.O. Box 7000, Texarkana, TX 75505. I have also written to Governor Rick Perry and Rep. Ron Paul regarding this travesty.
