From the July 2000 Idaho Observer:

Surf if you are in denial of contrails

People from all over the world have been reporting what have been dubbed contrails or chem trails -- white and gray exhaust-looking things from airplanes that do not dissipate normally but spread out and eventually cover even clear blue skies. Although the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is contemplating the passage of clean air standards that regulate exhaust levels from gas powered lawn mowers, several people who have called the federal agency with regard to contrails report that it has no interest in the matter. Other government agencies, members of Congress and the dominant media commonly dismiss contrails as being nothing more than conspiracy theorist paranoia. There are currently over 600 websites which post contail information. Incidence of upper respiratory distress and other physical complications seem to coincide with contrail events. Even though there have been no official sources that will confirm or deny a program that is “spraying” the public with chemicals emitted through the exhaust of airplanes, they seem to be interested in what is being reported through these websites.

Following is a list of entities that have made hits on contrail info websites. The list was generated by Charles Warren at: http://www.contrailconnection.htm
