From the July 2003 Idaho Observer: Land of the Free? Bush administration banning books, inhibiting free speech, monitoring communications, scrutinizing financial transactions, imprisoning Americans without trial, seizing private papers and effects, forcing invasive medical procedures and consumption of experimental drugs Bush administration officials admit in recent 9/11 investigation reports that they still have no idea who orchestrated the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. Curiously, the U.S. response to those attacks was to declare war on terrorism and to attack two nations -- allegedly for their suspected sponsorship of terrorism. Neither the attack on Afghanistan nor the attack in Iraq has produced villains Osama bin Laden or Saddam Hussein. The Bush administration war on terrorism and U.S. military occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq has not produced clues to the Sept. 11 tragedy or the location of Saddam's legendary weapons of mass destruction. The Bush administration war on terrorism has, through executive order and acts of Congress, turned the American people into the most imprisoned, most regulated and most taxed people in history.
