9/11 truth: Six years later

KANSAS CITY, MO—A new Zogby International poll released Sept. 6, 2007, finds a majority of Americans still await a Congressional investigation of President Bush’ and Vice President Cheney’s actions before, during and after the 9/11 attacks. Over 30 percent also believe Bush and/or Cheney should be immediately impeached by the House of Representatives.

The 911truth.org–sponsored poll also found that over two-thirds of Americans say the 9/11 Commission should have investigated the still unexplained collapse of the 47-story World Trade Center Building 7 at 5:20 p.m. on September 11, 2001.

WTC 7 housed the mayor’s emergency bunker and offices of the SEC, IRS, CIA and Secret Service and was not hit by any planes but still completely collapsed into its own footprint nearly eight hours after the Twin Tower attacks. FEMA did not explain this collapse, the 9/11 Commission ignored it, and the promised official study by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is now two years overdue.

Janice Matthews, executive director of 911truth.org, observes: "The supermajority response to the WTC Building 7 question signals increasing public concern about this remarkable event— up from 38 percent last year. We can perhaps credit this rising awareness to the millions who have recently witnessed videos or YouTube.com clips of this skyscraper’s descent and the outspoken demands for a new WTC inquiry from over 150 architects and engineering professionals, including NIST’s own former Fire Science Division Chief, Dr. James Quintiere."

Strategy aide W. David Kubiak adds, "While only 32 percent seek immediate Bush and/or Cheney impeachment based on their current personal knowledge, a clear majority of citizens still seem hungry for a full exposure of the facts. The results suggest widespread public support for legislators like Rep. Dennis Kucinich who pledge to investigate unanswered 9/11 questions in the relevant congressional committees this fall. We hope more of our representatives find the spine to respond to this escalating dissatisfaction with the dubious accounting we have received thus far."

9/11 family member and 911truth.org advisor Donna Marsh O’Connor notes, "I’m not sure this poll is at all surprising. Over half of those polled want more answers from Congress, from those they hired to represent them. One quarter of the country knows enough to want to impeach both. Doesn’t it just mean people need figures they consider credible to tell them whether key details add up or not? Truth advocates need to press their case in Congress, on college campuses, in church groups with reason and absolute discipline regarding what can and cannot be proven. The strongest evidence needs to reach the people—including people who hate computers. We must present it calmly. Like whispering so that people reach in to hear."

Scholars for 9/11 Truth held its first conference August 4-5, 2007, in Madison, WI.

Organized by group founder Dr. Jim Fetzer, the conference began with a general overview of what has been brought forward as evidence for serious consideration of what actually happened on 9/11.

Dr. Fetzer and co-founder Dr. Kevin Barrett believe scientific investigative inquiry should go wherever the evidence leads and the level of destruction was greater than what could have been accomplished by conventional means.

The conference attendance was low due to a rift that has developed in the 9/11 truth movement. The split has arisen between those who believe the events of 9/11 were carried out using conventional tactics and materials and those who believe the evidence shows unconventional, top secret, more highly advanced tactics and materials were used to turn millions of tons of steel and concrete into powder that fateful day.

Dr. Fetzer went over the issues to be discussed:

• The extreme strength of the WTC Towers (DeMartini).

• The explosive sounds from the basement area heard prior to the sounds from above (Rodriguez).

• Seismograph records which revealed significant activity 14-17 seconds prior to activity at top of Towers.

• The turning to powder of the top 30 floors of the South Tower which would have required extraordinary amounts of energy.

• The controversy about Dr. Judy Wood presenting her case for there NOT being only controlled demolition (brought forth by Dr. Steven Jones) but instead "dustification" and also because "math doesn’t add up" with regard to the of speed of entire collapse.

• The "molten metal" theory previously elaborated by Dr. Jones doesn’t hold up.

• Buildings 3, 4, 5 and 6 damage includes more than 50 strange incisions and bent support beams, along with floors crushed together.

• Over 1,400 cars, many of them several blocks away, were toasted; some of which were also missing entire engine blocks and door handles.

• "Bathtub" base under WTC to protect Manhattan from flooding from Hudson River completely intact throughout entire 9-11 decimation.

• Building 7 now has volumes of evidence against it being suddenly "pulled".

• Pentagon: No evidence to categorically confirm the impact/entry of large plane, lawn untouched by any ground level technology, people seen distributing debris following impact.

• When Congressional staff came running out on 9/11, black smoke was seen rising out of a row of carefully-placed dumpsters

• Shanksville: The debris field and photographic evidence makes it impossible to believe a large plane crashed there.

Several speakers followed with qualified observations supporting suspicions that unconventional means we used to accomplished 9/11 ends. Dr. Judy Wood, perhaps the most qualified scientist to have joined the 9/11 truth movement, opened her presentation on molecular dissociation by stating, "This is not the new Pearl Harbor; this is the new Hiroshima."

Dr. Wood noted the extreme dustification of the rubble and how even the 2-inch-thick, solid steel core columns were reduced to powder. The only things comparable are volcanic eruptions and nuclear explosions.

Major Doug Rokke, former director of the army depleted uranium project, commented that over 50 percent of the police and rescue workers in NYC (15,000 people) are now sick and dying from the dust of 9/11.

For months now, the list of qualified individuals with qualified opinions coming forward to publicly demand answers to 9/11 questions has been accelerating

Most recently, on Sept. 4, Joel S. Hirschhorn, Ph.D., who served for 12 years as a Senior Staff Member of the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment and later as Director of Environment, Energy and Natural Resources for the National Governors Association, called for a new investigation of 9/11, saying "First, let the technical truth emerge. Then, if necessary, cope with the inevitable political, conspiracy and other questions" (Former Congressional Office of Technology Assessment Senior Staff Member Calls for New Investigation of 9/11).

On Aug. 27, Lynn Margulis, Ph.D., member of the National Academy of Sciences and world renowned scientist, characterized the official account of 9/11 as "a fraud" and called for a new investigation, "I suggest that those of us aware and concerned demand that the glaringly erroneous official account of 9/11 be dismissed as a fraud and a new, thorough, and impartial investigation be undertaken" (National Academy of Sciences Member Calls for New 9/11 Investigation).

An Aug. 21 article reported that James Quintiere, Ph.D., former Chief of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Fire Science Division, called for an independent review of the World Trade Center Twin Tower collapse investigation. "I wish that there would be a peer review of this," he said, referring to the NIST investigation. "I think all the records that NIST has assembled should be archived. I would really like to see someone else take a look at what they’ve done; both structurally and from a fire point of view. ... I think the official conclusion that NIST arrived at is questionable" (Former Chief of NIST’s Fire Science Division Calls for Independent Review of World Trade Center Investigation).

On July 16, J. Marx Ayres, former member of the National Institute of Sciences Building Safety Council and former member of the California Seismic Safety Commission, called for a new investigation of 9/11. Ayres commented, "Steven Jones’ call for a serious investigation of the hypothesis that the WTC 7 and the Twin Towers were brought down, not just by impact damage and fire, but through the use of pre-positioned ‘cutter-charges’ must be the rallying cry for all building design experts to speak out" (Former California Seismic Safety Commissioner Endorses 9/11 Truth Movement).

Additionally, this week, Commander Ralph Kolstad, U.S. Navy ‘Top Gun’ pilot, questioned the official account of 9/11 and called for a new investigation. "When one starts using his own mind, and not what one was told, there is very little to believe in the official story."

NEW YORK CITY—NY Governor Eliot Spitzer filed an amicus brief on 1/15/03 on behalf of the World Trade Center's controversial lease-holder, the real estate magnate Larry Silverstein. This document shows that Spitzer, as attorney general, helped Silverstein get the whopping $4.5 billion windfall for the 9/11 attacks. The record is clear: Spitzer helped reverse a lower court's decision, by making credible Silverstein's argument that the two different plane crashes on 9/11/01 should be compensated as two different terrorist attacks.

This amicus, or "friend of the court," brief has never been reported before previously, in print or online. It was discovered in the court archives on the 17th floor of the 2nd Circuit Court (NYC), and released to the New York Megaphone by attorney Carl Person. In reporter Sander Hicks' exclusive story, author and lawyer Carl Person says: "I was surprised to see that Spitzer had used his position as attorney general to support one private litigant over another. Normally, this is not done."

On Sept. 7, 2007, National Public Radio reported that Muslims in the Middle East were beginning to believe that the 9/11 attacks on the WTC and Pentagon were false flag operations committed by some part of the U.S. and/or Israeli government.

It was beyond the imagination of the NPR reporter and producer that there could be any substance to these beliefs, which were attributed to the influence of books by U.S. and European authors sold in bookstores in Egypt.

NPR's concern was that books by Western authors questioning the origin of the 9/11 attack have the undesirable result of removing guilt from Muslims' shoulders.
